After Federal Securities Fraud Charges: Organize the Next Stage
An indictment changes the immediate work, but it does not establish guilt. Start with qualified federal defense counsel and a clear record of confirmed obligations.

Use the actual charging and scheduling documents
Keep the indictment or information, court notices and counsel-confirmed dates organized by version. Distinguish allegations from admitted facts and judicial findings. Public reporting can omit counts, defendants or procedural changes. A family calendar should identify the source of each date and the person authorized to confirm changes.
Make practical compliance responsibilities visible
Counsel explains release conditions and required appearances. Within that guidance, identify transportation, employment scheduling, caregiving and document-gathering responsibilities. Do not improvise travel or financial decisions based on assumptions about what conditions permit. Preserve written instructions and bring uncertainty to the responsible attorney promptly.
Begin an accurate personal-history inventory
Education, employment, health, family and community history can take time to document. Gather approved records without treating investigation-stage preparation as an admission or a completed sentencing narrative. Keep sensitive details within the agreed handling process. An early inventory can identify unavailable records before deadlines become compressed.
Revisit scope when the case stage changes
A plea, trial outcome or sentencing date may change the preparation assignment. SAG can help organize personal history, supporting records and documented corrective activity within counsel’s boundaries. It does not negotiate pleas, advise on trial decisions or communicate legal positions to prosecutors. Keep case strategy separate from practical preparation tasks.
Sources and the next preparation question
DOJ: Justice 101. Source checked November 5, 2026. Counsel evaluates the governing law and individual facts.
Should everyone charged immediately prepare a sentencing statement?
Not automatically. Counsel should determine what work fits the current posture. A background-record inventory and a sentencing submission serve different purposes.
A defined preparation assignment
Work directly with Joseph to establish the scope, source records, authorized recipients and review dates. Agreed deliverables can include a personal-history chronology, an indexed supporting file, factual questions and a practical preparation schedule. Investigation-stage legal decisions require qualified federal defense counsel. An engagement with SAG does not automatically establish privilege.
SAG serves clients nationally from Freehold, New Jersey, with travel arranged for cases. Share your stage and next deadline in the initial inquiry. Do not upload investigative records, investor details or privileged advice.
