Before choosing a facility or planning a visit

Open the official page for visiting procedures, the admissions handbook and current notices. Confirm addresses and visiting availability directly with the institution. A directory listing does not establish current RDAP availability, medical-care suitability or designation eligibility.

Federal correctional complexes (FCCs) group multiple facilities. FCI means Federal Correctional Institution; FPC, Federal Prison Camp; USP, United States Penitentiary; FMC, Federal Medical Center. Detention, transfer and medical facilities have different purposes. The abbreviation alone should not substitute for an individual designation review.

Use Sentencing Advocacy Group’s federal prison preparation to organize surrender instructions, medical records, family logistics and questions about designation.
