Identify the team and actual responsibilities

Record employment dates, reporting lines, duties and changes over time. Operations, engineering, compliance, customer support and leadership may involve different information and authority. Do not use the platform’s overall activity as a substitute for a person’s own work history. Preserve contemporaneous records where available.

Separate system access from actions

A permission or account role may show what someone could do, but does not by itself explain every action. Record what you personally performed and the basis for that account. Shared systems or logs may require technical review. Keep attribution questions separate from the factual description of your duties.

Preserve instructions and concerns

Organize relevant instructions, questions, escalations and responses by date. Do not rewrite historical communications to match a later understanding. Identify what you knew at the time and what was learned later. Counsel evaluates the legal significance and directs communications about the matter.

Build a practical preparation plan

Employment disruption, professional reputation and family responsibilities may require attention. SAG can organize professional history, personal records and realistic next steps alongside counsel. Avoid assuming that everyone at the same exchange has the same legal or preparation needs.

Continue your preparation

Does exchange employment establish a person’s role in every transaction?

No. Prepare a specific chronology of actual duties, actions and knowledge for counsel’s evaluation.

Agreed deliverables can include a personal and professional chronology, indexed supporting records, factual questions for counsel and a practical preparation schedule. SAG does not manage legal responses or provide forensic tracing or valuation opinions. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
