Identify the property and policy period

Keep the policy, endorsements and relevant dates together. Record the property and named insured as shown in the documents. Counsel addresses coverage and legal issues. A preparation file should not assume that a general policy description resolves a specific claim.

Organize the incident and inventory sources

Preserve available photographs, receipts, inventories and contemporaneous reports. Identify when each was created and what it actually shows. A photograph may establish an item’s appearance at a particular time without answering every question about ownership, value or location.

Trace submissions and payments

Keep the submitted inventory, estimates, amendments, communications and payment records in chronological order. Identify the preparer and recipient of significant documents. Distinguish amounts requested from amounts paid. Qualified reviewers evaluate valuation and financial questions; SAG organizes the source record.

Keep public material in context

If social-media or other public material is relevant, preserve context and dates through counsel-directed collection. Do not assume a media comparison establishes facts in your case. SAG’s preparation work connects the individual account to verified sources without supplying a forensic opinion or coverage advice.

Does a photograph establish the value of a claimed item?

Not by itself. Preserve the image and related records; qualified reviewers assess value and what the evidence establishes.

Sources and professional scope

Official background: FBI: Investigating Insurance Fraud and NAIC: Insurance Fraud. Sources checked November 6, 2026. These sources provide general context; counsel evaluates the actual jurisdiction, charge and applicable law. No historical statistics are used to predict an individual outcome.

A defined SAG assignment can include a personal chronology, indexed records, factual questions and preparation calendar. Counsel controls legal advice, responses and submissions. SAG is not a law firm, insurance adjuster, valuation provider or forensic accounting service. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.

Based in New Jersey, SAG serves clients nationwide, with travel arranged for cases. No sentence, placement, release date or financial result is guaranteed.
