Begin with scope and responsibilities
The first step is to identify the actual stage, counsel’s involvement, confirmed deadlines and the work SAG is being asked to perform. An investigation does not establish guilt or mean that charges are inevitable.
Counsel directs legal strategy, preservation requirements, disclosures and communications with the government. Joseph’s role is the agreed factual and personal preparation work, with authorized recipients and review points identified in writing.
Build the working record
An engagement can include an individual chronology, source index, personal-history inventory and factual gap list. Each important statement should identify its source or be labeled as recollection requiring confirmation.
The record can describe employment, education, family responsibilities and completed corrective work. It should not invent admissions, characterize disputed facts as established or substitute persuasive language for supporting evidence.
Use staged deliverables
The initial handoff identifies what exists and what remains missing. A second review reconciles factual inconsistencies and documents completed actions. A final agreed handoff provides organized materials and a clear list of unresolved questions.
The scope should identify responsibilities, timing, communication arrangements and fees before work begins. A general description of services is not a promise that every client receives the same package.
An IRS-CI preparation assignment
For a tax investigation, the record may identify entities, tax periods, preparers, original and amended returns, payment documentation and prior contacts. Counsel and financial professionals own the legal and accounting analyses.
Joseph can organize that information alongside the personal record, with tax-loss, restitution and civil balances treated as distinct questions. Disclosure eligibility and communications with IRS or DOJ remain counsel’s responsibility.
Engagement and confidentiality
An engagement with SAG does not itself establish attorney-client privilege. Counsel determines the appropriate professional arrangements and whether any requested support fits their legal work.
SAG is not a law firm and does not promise that preparation will prevent charges or change an outcome. The value of the assignment is a reliable, reviewable record and clearly defined work at the stage the client actually faces.

Can I hire SAG instead of defense counsel?
No. Legal advice and representation require qualified counsel. SAG’s preparation work is defined alongside that legal responsibility.
Discuss a defined preparation assignment
Retain qualified federal defense counsel first for an investigation or criminal charge. Agree on the scope, records, authorized recipients and review dates before SAG’s work begins. Counsel retains legal advice, strategy and submissions. SAG can deliver an indexed personal record, a chronology, a factual gap list and an agreed preparation schedule.
SAG serves clients nationwide from Freehold, New Jersey, with travel arranged for cases. Tell Joseph your current stage and next deadline. Do not send case documents or sensitive allegations through the initial website form.
