Preserve the original source
Counsel should direct preservation and technical collection. Screenshots can omit metadata, attachments and surrounding messages, so do not treat a selected image as a complete export. Identify the system and custodian for each source. Do not delete, edit or recreate messages, and do not access accounts without authorization.
Keep threads and attachments connected
A statement may depend on an earlier question, later correction or attached document. Preserve that context in the source index. Record which attachment version accompanied which communication. A revised presentation stored today should not be substituted for the one actually sent at the time.
Separate author, sender and recipient
Identify who drafted, reviewed, sent and received a communication when the evidence supports those distinctions. Shared accounts or delegated sending may require technical review. Do not assume that appearing on a recipient list establishes that a person read or understood every attachment. Counsel and qualified specialists evaluate the evidence.
Build a usable review index
Use a short factual description, date, source reference and related transaction identifier. Keep legal interpretation in counsel’s workstream. Mark missing context and disputed recollections. SAG can organize the personal chronology around the index but does not provide forensic collection opinions or decide the significance of a communication.
Continue your preparation
Can screenshots replace a complete communication record?
They may be incomplete. Preserve the original source and ask counsel to direct appropriate collection and review.
Sources and a defined preparation assignment
Official context: Department of Justice: Justice 101. Sources checked November 6, 2026. Counsel evaluates the applicable law, dates and individual facts.
Work directly with Joseph to define the scope, authorized recipients and review dates. Agreed deliverables can include a personal and professional chronology, indexed supporting records, factual questions for counsel and a practical preparation schedule. SAG does not manage legal responses or provide forensic accounting. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
SAG serves clients nationwide from New Jersey, with travel arranged for cases. SAG is not a law firm. No charging decision, sentence, placement or release date is guaranteed.
