Identify the custody arrangement

Record the platform or custodian, account holder, relevant agreements and period. Keep the source documents rather than relying on a shorthand label. Counsel and qualified specialists evaluate ownership and control questions. SAG’s preparation inventory should not include private keys, passwords or seed phrases.

Build a restriction timeline

Preserve notices of freezes, withdrawal limits, account closures and later changes. Record the date, sender and stated scope. A platform restriction and a court order are different sources of authority; do not treat them as interchangeable. Counsel should assess obligations and any proposed response.

Separate balances from availability

A displayed balance does not by itself establish that funds can be accessed, sold or distributed. Preserve relevant statements and correspondence, including uncertain or disputed entries. Financial disclosure should remain candid about interests and restrictions rather than omitting an asset because access is difficult.

Prepare realistic practical plans

Household and business plans should use confirmed resources and acknowledge restrictions. Do not promise payments based on an assumed future release of funds. SAG can organize practical needs and source records alongside counsel, while legal steps and decisions concerning restricted assets remain with the appropriate professionals.

Continue your preparation

Should an inaccessible account be omitted from preparation?

No. Identify the interest, balance source and restrictions accurately for counsel’s review.

Agreed deliverables can include a personal and professional chronology, indexed supporting records, factual questions for counsel and a practical preparation schedule. SAG does not manage legal responses or provide forensic tracing or valuation opinions. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
