Identify the original source

Keep the file as received or submitted, along with available transmission information. A downloaded copy and a working summary should be clearly distinguished. Record the custodian and location of the original. Counsel should direct collection where systems contain information beyond your lawful access.

Create a version table

For each material version, identify date, preparer, recipient and the nature of the change. Link the table to the actual file. Do not overwrite an earlier submission with a corrected copy or assume the latest version explains the entire history.

Keep explanations attributable

If a change was explained in a contemporaneous message, preserve it. If the explanation is a later recollection, label it accurately. Do not invent a routine business reason to fill a gap. Counsel evaluates the significance of inconsistent or incomplete information.

Use summaries as navigation tools

A comparison table can help reviewers locate differences, but it should not replace the underlying documents. SAG can organize the index and questions. Technical document analysis and legal conclusions belong with qualified professionals, especially where authenticity or attribution is disputed.

Should corrected documents replace earlier copies?

No. Preserve the history and identify each version so counsel can assess the actual sequence.

Sources and professional scope

Official background: FBI: Investigating Insurance Fraud and NAIC: Insurance Fraud. Sources checked November 6, 2026. These sources provide general context; counsel evaluates the actual jurisdiction, charge and applicable law. No historical statistics are used to predict an individual outcome.

A defined SAG assignment can include a personal chronology, indexed records, factual questions and preparation calendar. Counsel controls legal advice, responses and submissions. SAG is not a law firm, insurance adjuster, valuation provider or forensic accounting service. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.

Based in New Jersey, SAG serves clients nationwide, with travel arranged for cases. No sentence, placement, release date or financial result is guaranteed.
