Identify the figure and its assumptions

Record the source of any proposed amount, asset units, valuation date, relevant period and included transactions. Keep versions and disputes visible. Counsel determines applicable loss and restitution rules; qualified experts may be needed for valuation and tracing. A public headline is not a substitute for the actual calculation.

Separate enterprise scale from personal activity

Build a dated account of your actual role, authority and knowledge. Preserve changes over time and identify supporting records. Do not assume that personal gain automatically determines every legal amount, or that a company-wide total explains every individual. Counsel evaluates those questions under the applicable law.

Prepare documented personal material

Organize verified history, treatment, employment, character support and corrective work where relevant and appropriate to the stage. Distinguish completed work from plans. Technical complexity should not displace the broader record of the person, but that record must remain consistent with established facts and counsel’s review.

Use a disciplined review schedule

Work backward from confirmed interview and hearing dates. Assign responsibility for financial sources, technical questions, personal-history verification and practical arrangements. SAG can coordinate the agreed preparation deliverables while counsel controls legal arguments and submissions. Neither a large file nor a publication credential guarantees a particular sentence.

Continue your preparation

Is personal profit automatically the sentencing-loss figure?

Do not assume that. Counsel must evaluate the governing standards and the individual factual record separately from the amount personally received.

Sources and a defined preparation assignment

Official context: U.S. Sentencing Commission: 2026 Guidelines Manual. Sources checked November 6, 2026. Tax recordkeeping guidance does not determine criminal liability or sentencing loss. Counsel evaluates the applicable law, dates and individual facts.

Agreed deliverables can include a personal and professional chronology, indexed supporting records, factual questions for counsel and a practical preparation schedule. SAG does not manage legal responses or provide forensic tracing or valuation opinions. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
