Preserve the actual communication
Keep the notice, request or interview invitation with its attachments and date. Record who sent it and any stated deadline. Counsel evaluates the person’s status and directs a response; a general description of an investigation should not substitute for the actual document.
Map the relevant employment period
Identify positions, reporting lines, responsibilities and changes in access. Separate the period under review from the person’s entire career. Supporting records help counsel distinguish actual work from assumptions based on a title.
Inventory sources lawfully
List records already lawfully available and identify other custodians. Counsel directs preservation and collection. Do not access former employer systems, alter records or contact other participants to align accounts of events.
Define a limited first assignment
SAG can organize personal background, a professional chronology and factual questions. Legal interviews, productions and strategy remain with counsel. Confirm recipients and review dates before sharing sensitive records; an engagement does not automatically create privilege.

Sources and professional scope
Official starting points: United States Sentencing Commission economic-offense guidelines. Counsel evaluates current authorities, the applicable guideline version and the individual facts. These resources do not decide the outcome of a particular case. Sources checked November 6, 2026.
SAG provides defined personal and professional preparation: a chronology, source index, factual review questions and practical calendar as agreed. Counsel controls legal advice, responses and submissions. SAG is not a law firm, forensic accounting provider or compliance certifier. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
Based in New Jersey, SAG serves clients nationwide, with travel arranged for cases. No charging decision, sentence, financial result, placement or release date is guaranteed.
For counsel: Discuss Support for Your Client. Begin with the role, stage and deadline, not privileged advice or credentials, in the inquiry form.
