Start with proof of payment
Keep dates, amounts, recipients and reliable confirmations. Distinguish a proposed payment, pending transfer and completed receipt. Preserve the underlying agreement or order where one exists.
Identify source and restrictions
Document the source of funds and any relevant terms within counsel’s requested scope. Questions about transfers, assets or borrowing require legal and financial advice. SAG does not authorize transactions or advise on asset protection.
Separate payments and claimed credits
A payment and its treatment in a legal calculation are different facts. Preserve communications and governing records about credits. Counsel determines whether and how the payment affects loss, restitution or another issue.
Keep the account current
Update the payment log with source references and remaining uncertainties. Avoid describing an intention as completed restitution. SAG can organize the records and practical calendar but does not negotiate obligations or guarantee a sentencing effect.

Sources and professional scope
Official starting points: United States Sentencing Commission economic-offense guidelines. Counsel evaluates current authorities, the applicable guideline version and the individual facts. These resources do not decide the outcome of a particular case. Sources checked November 6, 2026.
SAG provides defined personal and professional preparation: a chronology, source index, factual review questions and practical calendar as agreed. Counsel controls legal advice, responses and submissions. SAG is not a law firm, forensic accounting provider or compliance certifier. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.
Based in New Jersey, SAG serves clients nationwide, with travel arranged for cases. No charging decision, sentence, financial result, placement or release date is guaranteed.
