Keep the original request

Record the date, requester, claimed purpose and supporting attachments. Preserve revisions and any documented questions. A later explanation should be labeled as such rather than substituted for the contemporaneous description.

Identify governing policies

Keep the policy version and relevant approval rules for the period. Distinguish written requirements from claimed informal practice. Counsel evaluates their significance in the actual matter.

Trace review and payment

Separate submission, approval, reimbursement and any later refund. Preserve source references and mismatches. A receipt, authorization and proof of payment answer different questions and should remain distinguishable.

Define the person’s role

Identify actual preparation, review and approval activities. SAG can organize the factual file and questions for counsel and financial reviewers. It does not certify business purpose or decide whether an expense was authorized under law.

Sources and professional scope

Official starting points: United States Sentencing Commission economic-offense guidelines. Counsel evaluates current authorities, the applicable guideline version and the individual facts. These resources do not decide the outcome of a particular case. Sources checked November 6, 2026.

SAG provides defined personal and professional preparation: a chronology, source index, factual review questions and practical calendar as agreed. Counsel controls legal advice, responses and submissions. SAG is not a law firm, forensic accounting provider or compliance certifier. An engagement does not automatically establish privilege.

Based in New Jersey, SAG serves clients nationwide, with travel arranged for cases. No charging decision, sentence, financial result, placement or release date is guaranteed.
